An illustration of Stokesosaurus

Stokesosaurus clevelandi by teratophoneus-d6si3ya
Stokesosaurus (meaning "stokes' lizard"), was a small, 3 to 4-metre long tyrannosaur discovered in both Utah and England. It was named after Uath geologist William Lee Stokes, and lived in the Late Jurassic Period

The discovered fossils of Stokesosaurus include several veterbrae, a partial braincase and a hip bone. A second hip bone was discovered, but this may belong to Aviatyrannis. A partial leg bone has also been discovered. The best known fossil element of Stokesosaurus is the ilium (part of the hip).
